Design Notes

Detectable amounts of 4-hydroxybenzalacetone were produced when 3mM p-coumaric acid was added to the transformants' growth medium. 9mM p-coumaric acid was also assayed and produced a larger amount of 4-hydroxybenzalacetone.

Beware the registry part labelled 'benzalacetone reductase'
